Main Library Exhibits Global Warming Mural
in May 2018
Florida artist
Huong is exhibiting the Global Warming
Mural composed of 400 original paintings
at the Main Library, gallery six, 100
S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale in
May 2018. The mixed medium mural on wood is
80 feet long by 8 feet tall. The artist
hopes this mural will create a platform for
discussion of climate change.
“The oil paintings immediately appear to be
beautiful and colorful images of nature, but
on closer inspection reveal a serious
message about the threats that will destroy
the environment,” said Huong.
Huong will greet visitors at the opening
reception for the exhibit on Saturday, May
5, 2018, 1 to 4 pm.Broward
County Natural Resource Specialist Monica
Ospina will speak at 1:30 pm on the topic of
“Climate Change Basics.” Dr.
Henry Briceno will speak at 3 p.m. about
global warming issues. Dr. Briceno is from
theSoutheast
Environmental Research Center of
Florida International University.
The Saturday reception is sponsored by the
Friends of the Fort Lauderdale Libraries. For
