Mười năm người trở lại

Chim di tìm cội nguồn

Gặp nhau cùng mừng tủi

Hàn huyên theo rượu tuôn

Sá gì chuyện lẻ tẻ

Không bằng cái khoát tay

Quên một đời dâu bể

Cụng ly cùng vơi đầy

Mười năm xa biền biệt

Thơ thẩn một mình ta

Chắc gì mười năm nữa

Bạn, ta, lại say sưa

Rót thêm thơ vào rượu

Đốt thêm rượu vào thơ

Nâng ly ta mời bạn

Nốc hết tháng năm qua

After ten years, you return
Like a migrating bird seeking its roots
On seeing each other again,
tears in our eyes,
joys in our hearts,
talk flows with wine
into the night…

A shoulder shrug,
a wave of the hands,
the trivial things in life
swept away from our minds.
Forgetting the turbulent changes in life,
we touch glasses after glasses
into the night…

Ten years, we were apart
Alone, a verse-dreaming me
Ten years from now,
who knows
if we’ll have drinks together?

Pouring more poetry in to wine
Burning more wine into poetry
I raise my glass,
and cheer My Friend:
This glass - to drink up the past months and years.
